Tiny Tapeout Workshop

Are you interested in learning more about chips and excited about designing your own? We are too! Join us for our Tiny Tapeout workshop, design your own chip, and be part of the first run (planned for September 2025) to have the workshop designs manufactured on a chip. Our workshop is for students (high school and university), enthusiasts and anyone excited about designing their own chip. We'll look at how transistors work and design of a simple digital circuit, and then we'll dive into creating the chip layout and adding your design to the chip.

Our teaching language will be in English, but we will have many Teaching Assistants to help out and most of them speak other languages, including German.

No prior knowledge is necessary, however you need to be able to use a computer and internet. We will be using web-based tools, and you will need GitHub account.

If you're a high school student interested in designing and making your own chip we encourage you to sign up and tell your teacher about us. If you're in Zurich, nearby, or even further away but can travel to Zurich for the afternoon, we'd be glad to save a seat for you and your classmates!
