Science on the Move, a nationwide STEM competition for high school classes, is back for the eighth edition! The programme promotes scientific curiosity, enthusiasm and teamwork and is open to schools in all regions of Switzerland. The competition is delivered in English, the language of science, to ensure comparability and reach.
The first stage of the competition is dedicated to research, experimental work and documentation of the results. The second stage, a new feature from 2027 onwards, encompasses a visit to a regional company for all classes that have sent a submission, offering students and company employees the opportunity to interact. Only the best classes advance to the third stage, where they prepare a creative stage performance presenting their results and experiences. The winning class is selected by a jury of experts from science, education and industry.
The classes may work on their contributions in their classroom, at school or wherever and whenever they see fit during the course of the competition. Registration opens in autumn 2026.
